Valentine's perfect wedding date for two Grande couples

After several months of trying, PC Mohanlal Ramoutar and Saroj Williams finally received a wedding date from the Revenue Office, Sangre Grande.

Fireman Bobby Samaroo and Hema Leela Ramdhanie had a similar problem.

Then everything fell in place: they made a special request for a Valentine's Day wedding and got it.

Apart from the long wait to say "I do", the happy couples had something else in common: they met their future spouses while liming with friends.

Ramoutar and Williams have been dating for the past four years and wanted to get married last year. As marriages are conducted only two days a week in Sangre Grande, there was a backlog and couples have been experiencing difficulties in getting a date. They were promised a date last month but could not be accommodated. Then they received what they described as "a perfect date" for a couple in love.

An overjoyed bridegroom, Ramoutar 37, of Ramnath Trace, Sangre Grande, said, "It feels like a good sign of everlasting love."
