Christmas came early for engaged couple
Things Remembered awarded bride-to-be Michelle Prewitt and fiance Jon Rogowski of Griffith a $20,000 check as the winners of its national wedding sweepstakes. The check presentation was held earlier this month at Westfield Southlake Mall.
Prewitt's mother entered her into the contest at the local Things Remembered store in Hobart and Michelle was selected through a random computer drawing.
The Things Remembered national wedding sweepstake ran from May 16 through Aug. 31, 2006. Participants 18 years or older and engaged at the time of entry were able to register on-line or at a Things Remembered store to win $20,000 toward their dream wedding. No purchase was necessary and both the bride and groom were eligible to enter.
The happy couple has known each other since high school and has been engaged since June, 2005. Both were amazed and excited to hear the fabulous news of their prize. Michelle Prewitt called it a 'Christmas came early story' for she and Rogowski.
Prewitt and her fiance plan to save the $20,000 prize for a down payment on a house.
Their wedding is set for Sept. 22, 2007. Needless to say, the bride and groom plan to purchase Things Remembered products for their special day.
Things Remembered, based in Highland Heights, Ohio, is a chain of more than 600 personalized gift stores in 47 states.
